​While our beloved nation is in lockdown to prevent the spread of COVID-19, there are many in vulnerable communities challenged by it as well as healthcare workers, rural communities, women and children under our care.
Even though we are confined to our homes we can still show love wherever we are! Ithemba Labantwana COVID 19 APPEAL to companies, private foundations and individuals to help where they can. Learn more about our current focused efforts in response to the pandemic below. YOU can help in the following ways:
DONATE | FUNDRAISE
Your donations are enabling us to support thousands of families in dire need with essential food items, soap and sanitizer. We’re also actively supporting local medical facilities within vulnerable communities mostly in rural areas with much needed PPE (Personal Protection Equipment).

Also, our president has encouraged all of us to wear a cloth mask to reduce transmission of COVID-19. We would like to equip, educate and empower you to make masks at home effectively and safely with materials you may already have available.
Anyone who has the capacity to make more masks than their household requires can donate them to others in need. Our team will do our best to facilitate the safe collection and distribution of your masks to those in most need.

COVID-19 APPEAL
Our low-income communities are now the country's hardest hit group by the COVID-19 pandemic. According to new coronavirus projections from Dr. Mkhize and top scientists, one million Covid-19 cases, 40 000 deaths are projected in South Africa in the months to come. With this, the country could become soon the "epicenter within the epicenter" which will experience the highest rates, and the country still struggling with the fact that a pandemic has just worsened the already existing realities of living in poverty. Read More…

SCHOOL FEEDING
With the support of Ithemba Labantwana, about 300 students are provided with a balanced lunch each day at Nkongolwane High School but only on one of the five school days.

Access to education is fundamental human rights. Whether a child is street involved, disabled, disadvantaged or refugee, we believe they deserve the chance to go to school.
